October 7th
The war that started on October 7th marked a remarkable display of unity and compassion as members of the African Students Organization in Israel came together to support our community in need.
In a powerful testament to our organization’s values of solidarity and compassion, the African Students Organization (ASO) has launched a series of volunteer initiatives aimed at supporting families who have tragically lost their homes and loved ones due to the ongoing conflict. Bringing together current students, alumni, and all administrative members, we are resolved in extending helping hands to those in need during these challenging times.
EXPO CENTER
With hearts full of empathy and determination, we gathered at the Expo Center Tel Aviv to lend a helping hand to those affected by the Israel – Hamas ongoing crisis. Guided by the spirit of solidarity, we joined forces with the organization Achim Laneshek in their noble mission of distributing food and necessities to displaced Israelis and residents of the South.
Amidst the bustling activity, our collective efforts spoke volumes. Shoulder to shoulder, we sorted, packed, and distributed essential supplies, bringing hope and relief to those facing adversity.
AID TO AGRICULTURAL FARMERS
In a powerful display of unity and support, members of the African Students Organization in Israel embarked on a mission to assist agricultural farmers facing challenges in Hod Hasharon, Rishon Lezion, and Mivtachim amidst the crisis.
In the early hours of the day, we journeyed to these farming communities to lend helping hands in the harvesting of sweet potatoes and tomatoes, Despite the looming threat of sirens and the unsettling reality of rockets near the Gaza Strip border.
Throughout the day, we toiled alongside local farmers, laboring under the scorching sun, and braving physical exhaustion. Yet amidst the fatigue, there was a profound sense of emotional upliftment knowing that our efforts were geared towards making a tangible difference in the lives of many.
