The African Community Support Center has been working tirelessly since the first Corona virus lockdown in March, 2020. The pandemic hit us hard: We could not go to work and are ineligible to receive unemployment pay. The most critical issue was food insecurity. We helped meet that need by delivering 537 food packages to refugee families, single mothers, students, and other community members in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Thank you Joey Low for funding the food drives.
As the pandemic continues with no clear end, we have collaborated with Pesia’s Kitchen and resumed delivering food packages weekly to as many people as possible.
Food packages include: Five kilos of rice, five litters of vegetables oil, corn flakes, ketchup, sugar, wheat flour, tuna, milk, onions, tomatoes, tomatoes paste, chocolate paste, peanut butter you name it all in one package.
Amount of food in the package is proportionate to the amount of people in the household.
