My name is Yosen Avraham, I am 18 years old, and my country of origin is Eritrea.
When I was a student at Bialik-Rogozin high school, ASO volunteers and staff came to explain who they are and what they offer asylum seekers on graduation such as English-language tutoring, guidance, and financial support.
I am studying social business management and democratic education at Seminar HaKibbutzim on Derech Namir in Tel Aviv. I had registered as a private person, which wasn’t easy, and I didn’t know that I could contact ASO to help me with the bureaucracy. It had been about three months since I had applied, and within one week, ASO had finalized my acceptance.
I currently live in Ramat Gan with a roommate because I decided to move out of my parents’ house to concentrate better on my studies the first year without my younger brothers disturbing me. I work on days when I don’t study, which creates a challenge to combine studies and work, and it is not always easy to finish all my school assignments. ASO has helped identify tutors to help me manage. I would really appreciate continued ASO support.
